Location & Activities

A sunny place in southern Isarco valley, embedded in the fertile cultural landscape. It stretches from the valleys bed up until the Rittner Horn (2260 m), one of the most beautiful viewpoints in South Tyrol. On well marked, diverse ways, every nature and forest friend finds what they like.

Experience the nature

Experience the nature at Gasserhof. A farm in the middle of the green meadow and fruit meadow, chestnut groves and forests with a wonderful view on the schlern and dolomites. Feel the fresh air in the morning with warm beams of sun.

Törggelen

The Törggelen comes from the old ways of the farmers and wine dealers; between October and the beginning of the advent time, to try the young wines. In South Tyrols taverns this „new“ wine is served together with barley soup, ravioli, harty salty meat, sausages, cabbage and dumplings. Sweet doughnuts and roasted chestnuts make the finishing touches.

Peaking and wandering

The UNESCO world nature heritage, the dolomites, are part of the most beautiful climbing and hiking tour areas of the world. The bizarre forms of the peaks and cliffs in unison with the wonderful cultured area of South Tyrol make your trip into an unforgettable experience.

Wander in the winter

Wander in the winter with snow shoes through the untouched snow of the Barbian alpine pasture and connect it with a trip to the Villander alpine pasture. There you will encounter many refreshment possibilities.

Climbing

Climbers find an ideal climbing revere in the dolomites. The legendary rock towers of the three peaks in Alta or the pinnacles at the rose garden massif and the Vajolet towers are only an example of what is found in Unesco – world nature heritage.

Skiing

In all 1000 track kilometres are available for skiers and snowboarders. 90% of these lie 1.500 meters over the sea level. The 30 ski areas of South Tyrol are distributed all over the land. Most of them are part of the two large ski cooperation’s.

Bikeing

A bicycle trip on the nearby Ritten with the wonderful view on the dolomites is surely an experience of a special type. We will happily lend out our mountain bikes to you (without helmet). Many times our bikes are used for an easy trip to Barbian.

Bad Dreikirchen

Emerging on a small clearing with a panoramic view on the site of an ancient pagan sanctuary source between the 13th and 16th Century are three small, nested churches.

Barbianer waterfall

The Gander stream that flows at the Kollmann in the Isarco, has a length of almost 6 kilometres. At the overcome of the height difference from 1510 metres, it falls over many cliff steps.

St. Ingenuin and St. Albuin

St.Ingenuin and Albuin are the patrons of the church of Saubach. It was first named in a document in 1398. Although the choice of the patron here indicates an older age.
